Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)

The adrenal gland contains the highest concentration of Vitamin C of any organ in the body — 100x higher than plasma levels.

How It Works

The adrenal gland contains the highest concentration of Vitamin C of any organ in the body — 100x higher than plasma levels. Vitamin C is an essential cofactor for the enzyme dopamine beta-hydroxylase, which converts dopamine to norepinephrine, and for the hydroxylation reactions required in cortisol synthesis. Under stress, the adrenal gland depletes its Vitamin C stores rapidly.

Why It's in Our Formulas

This is not a general immune-support dose — this is an adrenal-targeted therapeutic dose. At 500mg, it replenishes the adrenal gland's specific Vitamin C requirement for cortisol synthesis. Without adequate Vitamin C, the adrenal gland cannot produce cortisol efficiently regardless of how much glandular extract or adaptogens are provided.

Clinical Evidence

Multiple studies confirm that Vitamin C supplementation reduces cortisol response to acute stress, supports adrenal recovery after exercise-induced stress, and reduces the duration of adrenal fatigue symptoms. The adrenal gland's unique Vitamin C concentration is well-established in endocrinology literature.

Dosing & Timing

500mg is the therapeutic adrenal-support dose. Best taken with the adrenal glandular extract in the morning. Vitamin C is water-soluble — split dosing (AM/PM) improves retention.
