Lion’s mane (Hericium erinaceus) contains two families of compounds studied for brain health: hericenones, found in the fruiting body, and erinacines. In laboratory research these compounds support nerve growth factor (NGF), a protein the brain uses to maintain healthy nerve cells.
Lion’s mane leads the MycoCare™ blend — it is listed first, which means it is present in the greatest amount. It is the reason MycoCare sits in our Brain & Cognitive range: it is included to support memory, focus and normal cognitive function.
Small human trials in older adults have reported better scores on cognitive function tests with daily lion’s mane over 12–16 weeks, with the benefit fading after it was stopped. The research is promising but early, and larger studies are still needed.
MycoCare uses a 10:1 fruiting-body extract. Take 2 capsules daily as directed on the label. In studies, benefits built over several weeks of consistent use.
