Ginkgo Biloba (24% Extract)
Ginkgo biloba contains flavone glycosides and terpene lactones (ginkgolides and bilobalide) that inhibit platelet-activating factor (PAF), improve cerebral blood flow through vasodilation, scavenge free radicals in brain tissue, and protect neurons from ischemic damage.
Ginkgo biloba contains flavone glycosides and terpene lactones (ginkgolides and bilobalide) that inhibit platelet-activating factor (PAF), improve cerebral blood flow through vasodilation, scavenge free radicals in brain tissue, and protect neurons from ischemic damage. The 24% flavonoid / 6% terpene standardization is the clinically validated specification.
Addresses the vascular component of cognitive decline — many cases of brain fog and memory impairment are driven by reduced cerebral blood flow rather than neurotransmitter deficiency. Ginkgo improves the delivery of oxygen and glucose to brain tissue, enhancing cognitive performance at the most fundamental level.
One of the most studied botanicals for cognitive function. A 2010 meta-analysis of 36 trials confirmed significant improvements in cognitive function, memory, and activities of daily living. The GRACE study showed significant reduction in dementia progression. Approved as a prescription medication for cognitive decline in Germany.
120–240mg daily (standardized to 24% flavone glycosides / 6% terpene lactones). Best taken in two divided doses. Anticoagulant effects — discontinue 2 weeks before surgery. Avoid with blood thinners without physician oversight.
