DE111® is a clinically studied spore-forming probiotic strain that survives stomach acid and bile (unlike most Lactobacillus strains) and germinates in the small intestine. It produces antimicrobial peptides that inhibit pathogenic bacteria, supports the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) that fuel colonocytes, and modulates immune function through toll-like receptor signaling.
Spore-forming probiotics are significantly more stable and effective than traditional Lactobacillus strains — they survive the harsh gastric environment and actually reach the intestine where they are needed. DE111® specifically has clinical data supporting improvements in bowel regularity, microbiome diversity, and immune function.
Multiple clinical studies on DE111® specifically. A 2017 study showed significant improvement in bowel frequency and consistency. Studies also confirm improvements in gut microbiome diversity and reduction in pathogenic bacteria counts.
1–5 billion CFU daily. Spore-forming probiotics do not require refrigeration and maintain potency at room temperature. Can be taken with or without food. Effects on bowel regularity typically seen within 1–2 weeks.
