Bioavailability Enhancer

BioPerine® (Black Pepper Extract)

BioPerine® (standardized to 95% piperine) inhibits intestinal alkaline phosphatase and P-glycoprotein — two enzymes that break down and expel many supplements before they can be absorbed.

How It Works

BioPerine® (standardized to 95% piperine) inhibits intestinal alkaline phosphatase and P-glycoprotein — two enzymes that break down and expel many supplements before they can be absorbed. It also stimulates amino acid transporters in the intestinal wall, increasing the absorption rate of co-administered nutrients. The net effect is dramatically improved bioavailability of fat-soluble and water-soluble compounds.

Why It's in Our Formulas

Included to maximize the effectiveness of every other ingredient in the formula. Without BioPerine®, many of the fat-soluble compounds (curcumin, CoQ10, fat-soluble vitamins) would be poorly absorbed. At 5mg, BioPerine® can increase the bioavailability of co-administered nutrients by 20–2000% depending on the compound.

Clinical Evidence

BioPerine® is one of the most studied bioavailability enhancers. A landmark study showed 2000% increase in curcumin bioavailability when combined with piperine. Multiple studies confirm enhanced absorption of CoQ10, selenium, vitamin B6, and beta-carotene.

Dosing & Timing

5–10mg per serving is the effective dose. Always take the entire formula together to benefit from BioPerine's absorption enhancement. No additional dosing required.
