Glandular

Adrenal Glandular Extract

Provides concentrated bovine adrenal tissue containing adrenal-specific proteins, peptides, and cofactors.

How It Works

Provides concentrated bovine adrenal tissue containing adrenal-specific proteins, peptides, and cofactors. These tissue factors are believed to support adrenal cell repair and function through a process called glandular therapy — the principle that "like supports like." The extract supplies raw material the depleted gland needs to rebuild its secretory capacity.

Why It's in Our Formulas

This is the foundational ingredient in AdrenaCare™. Most adrenal supplements only provide adaptogens or vitamins — they support the gland indirectly. Glandular extract directly nourishes the tissue itself. Dr. Taylor uses this for patients in the "gray zone" between normal labs and full adrenal failure.

Clinical Evidence

Glandular therapy has been used in clinical practice since the early 20th century. While large-scale RCTs are limited, decades of clinical use and case series support its effectiveness in functional adrenal insufficiency. The extract is processed to remove hormones while preserving tissue growth factors.

Dosing & Timing

Most effective when taken in the morning (6–8 AM) to align with the natural cortisol peak. Avoid evening dosing as it may interfere with the natural cortisol decline needed for sleep.

"I reach for glandular extract when a patient's adrenals are truly depleted — not just stressed. It's the difference between giving a tired muscle adaptogens versus giving it the actual building blocks to rebuild."
